Poultry owners across the country can finally take a sigh of relief as the vaccine for bird flu has been developed. The Indian Council for Agriculture Research of Bhopal has made this breakthrough development. The vaccine is in the trial stage now.
// The H5N1 strain of bird flu has killed 132 people worldwide since 2003, according to the World Health Organisation. Indian authorities also say that bird flu has subsided and in six months the country could be declared free from the infection. Union Agriculture Minister, Sharad Pawar made the announcement of the vaccine. "I would like to congratulate all the scientists particularly. Within no time they have succeeded to develop this particular type if vaccine. We are taking trials and we will be able to release at it an appropriate time," Pawar said. //
