You are in midst of your better half's call and found an another call in waiting. You hold sweetheart's call and expect the other call is important.
"Hello **** Sir, Good Morning"
What a manager, wishing and calling to offer a job. "Yes Madam, Good Morning. How are you Doing?
"Doing great Mr.*****. Is n't pleasant morning today?"
"Yeah, hectic traffic though"
"We are calling from **** bank and we offer life time free credit card.."bla bla..
"Sigh"
This incident happens to everybody in our country and I remember my MD got a marketing call when he was in conf call. And you can imagine what happend later :). I understand these calls are bread and butter for them, however it is irritating for others, can't help it.
So what is the solution for this?
Since most people are disturbed on their cell phones by telemarketer these days, Telecom Regulatory Authority of India has instituted National Do Not Call Registry (NDNC Registry) is to curb Unsolicited Commercial Communication (UCC).
A Mobile or landline subscriber, who does not wish to receive telemarketing calls, can request their telephone number be included in the NDNC Registry. Such requests are sent through their telecom service providers which will be stored in National Do Not Call Registry. Subscribers can make a Do Not Call requests via Letter, phone, SMS or on-line.
The telephone number "1909" is designated for registering your request in the National Do Not Call Registry. Registrations can be done either by calling or sending SMS with keywords "START DND" to "1909". Telephone calls/SMS to this number are Free of cost. The telecom service provider will acknowledge the request within ten days. Requests will become effective in 45 days from the date of request.
