Beware: Pirated Windows

India is the 2nd largest in Pirating softwares and movies in the world. 90% of home users (assembled) are having pirated softwares, not only OS all of the remianing packages available. Now, Microsoft want to apply a brake for this. For updates previously what we will do, just click on windows update and get download all the patches, Service Packs to our systems. It cannot be done from next monday.

How? What was previously a voluntary program to ensure the legitimacy of Windows installs is now mandatory. Microsoft has flipped the switch on Windows Genuine Advantage 1.0, requiring that users of Windows Update and Microsoft Download Center validate their operating systems.
Security updates will remain widely available, however, muffling criticism that a crackdown will lead to untold numbers of hacked and zombified systems.

The program works by downloading an ActiveX control for validation. Once deemed genuine, a download key is produced for future downloads. One benefit is that Windows users will no longer have to enter their 25-digit product keys for validation.

Microsoft's aim is to put a dent into the software counterfeit market, which according to the Business Software Alliance is costing vendors billions of dollars a year.

The program also rewards unwitting users of pirated Windows by offering free legit copies if they take the time to fill out a report, mail their counterfeit install CDs and provide a receipt. Those that only fill out a piracy report can score real versions of XP Home and Pro at discounted prices ($99 Home, $149 Pro).

One of my cousin who is in my house started searching job in Indian Silicon Valley. First of all he just cleared his final semester (BE-IT) and came to the market to sell himself for a better price. He usually tells about the day-day activities to me. First he tried for some call center jobs. I was in thought that Call centers are welcoming the freshers with red carpet, which is absolutely wrong. Call center are looking for science & arts graduates not engineering freshers. Reason: Engineering freshers will jump to Software companies if they get a chance.

Next Software companies, Last week I heard that 27000 people written the exam for TCS(most of them are freshers). So assume the competition among freshers. The guys who got selected campus are very lucky. Are the campus recuited are all from IT? Certainly not. They are from Elec, Elec Comm, IT, Comp Sci., Civil, Mech, Mettalrgy majors. What a guy will do if done his graduation in Civil and writing code in C++. The efforts which he put for his civil are all goes Vain. However we cannot underestimate students now. They are very sharp now, grasping the market level in final year and tuning themselves to sell to the market. Back to the point, my cousin's worry is that he cannot compete with the other major students who is having strong funda in Computers with some certifications.

So the ultimate point is that, graduation never matters to enter or stick to IT field. Get some certifications, good in communication gets the jobs for freshers ASAP.

Dont wait for the job to hit you, hit the jobs with your skills.

Nowadays, advertising is intersting than the programmes which are all broadcasted in TV. Some advertisements are really good, some realy sucks..

The Liril Advertisement is the one which affected me directly. When I was staying in a PG those guys started calling me how Advt does, pity thing is that Advt shows how a man seducting a woman @ last vice versa also. Advt goes like this La ILA ILA ILa ....

Kwalitywalls advertisement. it crossed all the limits, it is almost like a blue film if you think @ that way, tooooooooooo much.

HDFC- Really touching the heart. Train arrives to the station and dad will try to get down from it. Son gives his hand for support. Dad (60yrs) avoids his support and he will get down. Now Dad gives the hand to his wife she also avoids that. Finally the grandson will fell and trying to standup everybody waits there to get up himself. Great idea.

Horlicks- Once upon a time Advertisements were copied from Film songs. nowadays it become vice versa. In such movies like Jithan songs are copied from Advt.

Anyway the worth of effort for Advt. are improved very much. Rajiv Menon, called as the Guru for Advt.. Also AR Rahman from Jingles only. Hatsoff to those people who improved this Industry like any thing.

Fido

My Fav. cartoon characters are Tom & Jerry and Fido Dido. First time when I have seen the advt of 7up Lehar, i got inspired Fido. Then I used to draw Fidos like cooking, driving (ithu thana time to disclose I do sketch). I got some few interesting new about Fido, I like to share with you all

Fido Dido is a cartoon character licensed to Pepsico for their 7UP brand (in the United States, 7up's country of origin, it is not a Pepsico brand, however it is, in foreign markets). Is Married Man Earning More?

Who is earning more?

Married men earn more than bachelors so long as their wives stay at home doing the housework, according to a report Wednesday from Britain's Institute for Social and Economic Research (ISER).

Academics Elena Bardasi and Mark Taylor found that a married man whose wife does not go out to work but is primarily responsible for the cooking and cleaning earns about 3 percent more than comparably employed single men.

But that wage premium disappears if wives go out to work themselves or don't do most of the housework.

"It has been fairly well documented that married men earn more than single men," Taylor, a labor economist, told Reuters.

"However, our research established the wage premium is related to the wife doing the chores," said the academic who teaches at the University of Essex in eastern England.

He said analysis suggests there could be two explanations for the results:

A marriage might allow a husband and wife to focus their activities on tasks to which they are most suited. Traditionally, this would result in the man concentrating on paid work enabling him to increase productivity and in consequence his wages.

Taylor said another explanation could be that marriage may increase the amount of time a man has to hone work-related skills which could trigger higher wages.

Taylor and Bardasi analyzed the hourly wages of 3,500 men who have been interviewed annually since 1991 as part of the British Household Panel Survey.

"We looked at all types of jobs from unskilled up to managers and professionals," Taylor said.

The Red Planet (MARS) is about to be spectacular! This month and next, Earth is catching up with Mars in an encounter that will culminate in the closest approach between the two planets in recorded history.
The next time Mars may come this close is in 2287. Due to the way Jupiter's gravity tugs on Mars and perturbs its orbit, astronomers can only be certain that Mars has not come this close to Earth in the last 5,000 years, but it may be as long as 60,000 years before it happens again.
The encounter will culminate on August 27th when Mars comes to within 34,649,589 miles of Earth and will be (next to the moon) the brightest object in the night sky. It will attain a magnitude of -2.9 and will appear 25.11 arc seconds wide. By August 27, Mars will look as large as the full moon to the naked eye. Mars will be easy to spot.
At the beginning of August it will rise in the east at 10p.m. and reach its azimuth at about 3 a.m. by the end of August when the two planets are closest, Mars will rise at nightfall and reach its highest point in the sky at 12:30a.m. That's pretty convenient to see something that no human being has seen in recorded history. So, mark your calendar at the beginning of August to see Mars grow progressively brighter and brighter throughout the month.

Sania at Wimbledon

Sania Mirza Vs Kuznetsova, the first Indian girl to play in Center court of Wimbledon, so the expectation also, high. Sania started amazingly breaking first game from Kuznetsova. I thought she will beat Kuznetsova in 2 sets itself if she plays like the same. After 4 th game.. Kuznetsova started playing differently placing in the balls near to Net. She lost first game 4-6. However, she won the 2nd set with high pressure tie-break 7-6. In Final set she lost her hope and Kuznetsova started playing coming forward and playing some short shots where Sania is poor in it. She lost the match but won most of the souls in Wimbledon. She is only 18, she will improve her game and get back with little technical knowledge will make her good place in Tennis.

KPMG offers apology over illegal tax

KPMG LLP, one of the Big Four accounting firms, apologized yesterday for helping to set up illegal tax shelters, a move that could help it avoid a criminal indictment like the one that destroyed Arthur Andersen three years ago.
Apart from KPMG, federal authorities are also investigating Ernst & Young. An Ernst & Young spokesman declined to comment on the status of the probe.

He is currently in Bangalore (for the nth time) and has this column in yesterday's New York times.

Voters in "old Europe" - France, Germany, the Netherlands and Italy - seem to be saying to their leaders: stop the world, we want to get off; while voters in India have been telling their leaders: stop the world and build us a stepstool, we want to get on. I feel sorry for Western European blue collar workers. A world of benefits they have known for 50 years is coming apart, and their governments don't seem to have a strategy for coping.

One reason French voters turned down the E.U. constitution was rampant fears of "Polish plumbers." Rumors that low-cost immigrant plumbers from Poland were taking over the French plumbing trade became a rallying symbol for anti-E.U. constitution forces. A few weeks ago Franz Müntefering, chairman of Germany's Social Democratic Party, compared private equity firms - which buy up failing businesses, downsize them and then sell them - to a "swarm of locusts."

The fact that a top German politician has resorted to attacking capitalism to win votes tells you just how explosive the next decade in Western Europe could be, as some of these aging, inflexible economies - which have grown used to six-week vacations and unemployment insurance that is almost as good as having a job - become more intimately integrated with Eastern Europe, India and China in a flattening world.

But as per the latest news Apple will discontinue using microprocessor chips made by IBM in favor of Intel chips. Though Mac is costlier than Intel processor, due to the perfection and rendering speed of Mac all animators are relies on Mac/Apple chip. This is too early to say about the performance Mac with Apple. However we know the performance about Intel(AMD is better for Animation).

Hari's marriage is one of the examples to prove this. When lot of vehicles holding DMK's flag for their meet (MANAADU) at Coimbatore (Sivakumar Kamal venu Gopal's Native), I also joined in that traffic to move my vehicle slowly to CBE. Surprisingly Prasad was the first guy to reach the place exactly which never happened before. Good thing is that he was not sleeping, Aravinth came with loaded F75 (Nikon), and myself with hopes (what else I can have). We reached the place after a lot of trekking (diverted traffic to a narrow road) with my car to reach the mahal. Coimbatore Mama & Palghat Mami was ready to receive us (hehehhe). One special thing about Hari’s marriage Reception is that the Orchestra and Dance. I never saw a Groom dancing in his marriage may it is new to Coimbatore (Hari dances well;)), also I able to understand "Seena thaana"(Vasool raja) song is so effective when everybody started dancing.

Amazing to see Priya in Madisar (Palghat mami), its great experience, and unforgettable moment. As TamilCSC policy we have been to Marutha Malai as a short picnic and we back to our survival :(

Usual story, already people has decided that it is a logical less movie, and then they would have done some more graphics (budget problem). A Usual triangle love story.

A usual & useless young man (Ramesh) fell in love with his neighborhood (Pooja). But pooja loves some other guy. Ramesh has been critized by all of the people; somehow he gets a Supernatural power (invisible to all). In between this, for star value they are introducing Sarath.. Ramesh trying to make understand his feelings, for that he is robbing a bank, making traffic jam, blasting some busses and car(too mucha theriyala). Finally she understands his love @ that time he is being killed by police.

Mahendran, a great director who made slow and soft movies in older days. My Expectation was very high when I heard that his son directed after some Masala movies from Vijay. But this movies is not like Gilli or Thirupachi. Vijay moved to next level in his acting. Yes, it is a soft. romance and a full comedy movie. I believe he made it very perfect.

In this time have consider about Bipasa Basu debute in tamil movie. Sorry guys, dont expect more about Bip, nothing special, to be honest Bipasa did n't do well. Jenilia, again a great a performace, supported Vijay in this movie, dance for Vaseegara songs is ultimate(sexy though). vadivelu, cracking few jokes, as Vijay has taken his role (comedian) his role doesnt shine. About music, ultimate is the theme music (heard more than 100 times and my car streo player will cry when I play this music again). Good with some contraversy.

Nowadays Hindi movie stories are mostly like marrying or .... others lover(s) and wife. One thing we have to appreciate Kamal that he used thatconcept in this movie however the same also there in this movie. Express starts very fast with good jokes(hats off to Pasupathi, he proved that he came from Koothu Pattarai as a comedian), Kamal is the only guy who can take risk in characteriastion. Express slows down due to screenpaly and finally it didnt reach the goal with poor script.
Better luck next time Kamal. Ithu poya Dr. Iyaa vum, Thirumavalavanum sandai pottanga, ada pongayya.
